Seema Malhotra MP
Seema Malhotra MP is co-founder and Chair of Hounslow’s Promise and is passionate about supporting the education attainment, social mobility and employability of young people. She is the Labour and Cooperative Member of Parliament for Feltham and Heston where she grew up, and went to Heston Primary School and the Green School. Her primary policy interests are in the areas of economy, business, education and equalities.
She currently serves as the Shadow Minister for Skills and Further Education. She also chairs the All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Entrepreneurship and co-chairs the APPG on the OECD. She held the position of Shadow Chief Secretary to the Treasury from 2015-2016, Shadow Minister for Employment from 2020-21 and Shadow Minister for Business and Consumers from 2021-23.
She studied Politics and Philosophy at Warwick University, a Masters in Business IT at Aston University and has an MBA with distinction. Prior to entering Parliament, Seema was a business and public service adviser working with the video game and film industries. She has over ten years’ experience with leading firms Accenture and PricewaterhouseCoopers. She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, former Chair of the Fabian Society, a national think tank, and is the Founder and President of the Fabian Women’s Network.
