Connected Futures
The Connected Futures: Young Leaders Programme was developed to support young people aged 16-24 who are living, studying or working in the London Borough of Hounslow. It is run with the support of Hounslow Council and Hounslow Chamber of Commerce.
The aim of the Connected Futures: Young Leaders Programme is to support young people in Hounslow gain the skills, experience and guidance they need to help them get into work or education and to achieve their goals.
The Connected Futures: Young Leaders Programme pairs young people with a mentor from the community. A good mentor can inspire renewed self-belief and motivation; they are trusted to be neutral and non-judgemental. For young people, this can make all the difference to success.
The programme also provides a range of further opportunities for young people to develop their skills and knowledge such as:
- Access to masterclasses led by industry professionals
- Bespoke employability and life skills workshops
- Visits to local businesses and workplaces
- The opportunity to volunteer for a local organisation
- The opportunity to train as a mentor to support school-aged young people in Hounslow
