We were so pleased to hold our first Hounslow’s Promise Gala Dinner since before Covid. A big thank you to Lord David Blunkett and former Hounslow school pupil Sanjeev Bhaskar OBE for being our speakers at the event.

With performances from young people in Hounslow Music Brass, young dancers from the Polish Klan Association and young artists, it was an evening of celebrating our young people as well as coming together as a community - our schools, colleges, business, industry, cultural and community groups - to help build the social capital around our young people and to support their education attainment and employability. Our young people are the leaders of tomorrow and it is our job to help unlock the promise in every child.

This year the charity is looking to expand further our community mentoring and leadership programmes, grow our Speakers for Hounslow Schools initiative, and support increased business and enterprise education  - something often asked for by young people.

There is much more that Government needs to do to support our young people - including more teachers in schools, a wider curriculum, more opportunities for access to the world of work. There is also much that we can do as a community to build a wider network and joined up support around our young people.
